Key points
- Handles PCC, slab, column, beam and road/PCC bed volumes.
- Auto-splits cement / sand / aggregate by IS mix ratio.
- Adds a labour-cost line based on ₹/m³ of concrete.
Formula & how it works
Concrete volume = L × W × D (converted to m³).
Dry volume = wet × 1.54; materials split by IS mix ratio.
Cement bags = cement m³ ÷ 0.0347. Sand/aggregate converted to cft.
Worked example
- Column 1 ft × 1 ft × 10 ft with M20 (1:1.5:3).
- Wet ≈ 0.28 m³ → dry ≈ 0.43 m³ → cement ≈ 2.3 bags.
- Sand ≈ 7 cft, Aggregate ≈ 13 cft, Water ≈ 60 L.
Expert tips & mistakes to avoid
- Always add a 5–7% wastage buffer — mid-slab shortages cost more than the buffer bags.
- For engineered members (RCC columns/beams), follow the structural drawing over any calculator.
- Order cement in tranches — bags older than 90 days lose strength.
- Confirm the current market rate on WhatsApp before finalising the budget — prices printed here are indicative only.
Frequently asked questions
Which grade for a house column?
+
M20 is standard for RCC house columns in most residential drawings. M25 for heavier loads or engineered structures — always follow the drawing.
Should I include reinforcement?
+
Use the Steel and RCC calculators for the reinforcement weight; this tool gives concrete volume and material split.
